Aspercreme

After straining my calf muscle a week ago (which should be no surprise to the people who know me), I decided NOT to take care of it. That is why I went out today, with my strained calf muscle, to play basketball. Surprisingly (sarcasm), I ended up hurting myself pretty badly. I pulled the calf muscle furthermore which prevented me from walking properly. Now I'm not that stupid, so I decided to take care of it this time. I just got this creme (do you write creme as "creme" or "cream" ? hmm) today which turned out to be a pretty good pain reliever. The nice thing about it is that it has a sort of sponge applicator (the same kind of sponge you use for cleaning your shoes), which you can apply with directly onto your muscle. This, I think, is a very smart idea as I always tend to squeeze out more than I need with regular creams. Now I can't play for 2 weeks. Nice...

Update: I just woke up earlier this morning with a VERY painful burning sensation on my calf muscles. The back of the creme does point out that this might happen, but that it will go away. It did go away, but it was harshly painful!

Elite 1

I finally found the right shoe. I purchased a pair of hyperdunks a couple of months ago, but my feet never got used to them. This shoe (Jumpman Elite 1) however, which is actually my first Jordans, is very comfortable and tight. From my experience with basketball shoes, you always have to sacrifice one for the other (comfort or tight grasp on the foot). This shoe though is definitely an exception. I'm really liking it. (To the people who are thinking: "how the hell does anyone buy such shoes, then this post is probably not for you ;p)

The Art Of Procrastination, Mastered.

Yup. It's really tough to deal with procrastination. It's by far one of my biggest problems. I have a Lab due for tomorrow (which my TA wouldn't help me with because she just doesn't reply to my emails). Its been a long week for me. Midterms, homeworks, quizzes...etc. I'm looking forward to the weekend though. Here are some of the stuff i have planned out for the weekend:
  1. Watch Body Of Lies - this has to be one of the best movies. I am dying to watch this.
  2. Watch Sexdrive - This should probably crack me up a little.
  3. Watch Max Payne - Mark Wahlberg is Legit.
  4. Watch OSU beat the spartans - this should be a good game.
  5. Play Basketball
  6. Play soccer
So yeah! Pretty much it's all just movies and sports. The weekend i've been waiting for!

Catching Up

I sincerely apologize for the hiatus everyone. I have finally managed to hook up my camera with my Mac (finally). So here are some pics of random stuff i've been up to here in Columbus!

It's Waaaay better than fast food. It's Wendy's! (not really) But it's still good for fast food, and i'm liking it.

A science museum in Cleveland, Ohio. Very fascinating and cool stuff in there!

I'm really feeling at home right now, and trying to get more acquainted with the place. The people here are great! Everyone's friendly and social. The above picture is of a football game being watched on a projection by hundreds (but the shot obviously doesn't show that). This is where the Buckeyes beat the Badgers by 3pts! Very good game.

Olentangy, Aladdin, Chase, At&t and Cleveland

Yeah, as the title suggests, i've been pretty much all over the place here in Ohio! Yesterday i got an apartment at Olentangy, and so far the staff have been great with helping us. I also got some furniture for the apartment.

Later on yesterday, i went to eat at Aladdin for fu6oor. It was across the street from Olentangy. It is basically an oriental/Lebanese restaurant. It was OK i guess. I really don't know how good it was 'cuz i was fasting so pretty much any food was OK for me!

I also went to Chase and opened up a bank account. I heard it's a great bank, and it's the most known bank here in Columbus.
Later on i went to At&t and got a mobile number with an individual wireless plan. So yeah, it was a LONG day indeed, but then again, it's better so i don't feel very hungry during the day since i'm busy doing stuff.

* * * * *

I am just back from Cleveland. I went there by car and it was so much fun. I like road trips really, although this one wasn't very distant. I honestly didn't get to see Cleveland a lot, but it seems like a nice place. It was also raining heavily over there and we (me and my father) weren't able to see everything very clearly. Anyways, i will definitly go there again once i get the chance, probably to see a basketball game. In the meantime though, i'm getting prepared for the USC / OSU football game tonight. Catch you guys later!

La Liga Week 1 Frenzy

The first week of the La Liga has passed, and most people are disappointed. This is because most people are either Real Madrid fans or Barcelona Fans. Good news is, I hate both teams, and my team (Valencia) crushed Mallorca! Now i really don't know what's best: Valencia winning or Madrid & Barcelona losing. This is really good...
Oh, and i really think losing Robinho is a very stupid move by Real Madrid

Sparq Training by Nike

As you may all know from my blog, i'm going to be a buckeye (inshalla) in 3 months. I know i'm not the best athlete there is, but i know i can get better. I have decided that i will start a personal training program (tailored by me) to become a better athlete. Now to do so, i must find the right base program and equipment. And i think i just did. I don't know how i landed on this system, but it looks great. I'm not sure how old or new this system is, but i'm really liking it. Nike have a training system by the name of SPARQ. I love Nike, and so i think this would suit me perfectly.

Nike have also developed through this system a way to rate all athletes in the world. You basically perform a set of exercises and the program will calculate your Athletic Score. Now while this is pretty cool, I would like to get my score before and after i use this system. My only problem with this program is that you need a lot of space, so i'm hoping i can find such space at a basketball court in OSU. You can check out the program by going to the Sparq Training website. Or check out the products at the Sparq Store website.

This campaign of globalizing this system has also been used by many athletes (Brandon Roy in the previous pic). Also there have been alot of cool advertisements for this program. Here is one:
